Bitchin Bajasconcert

Cosmic vibrations, from Chicago to the universe

Bitchin Bajas is a Chicago-based instrumental trio featuring Cooper Crain, Rob Frye and Daniel Quinlivan. Formed in 2010, their hypnotic, psychedelic music is generated from a blend of synthesizers with guitars, flutes, and saxophones.

Their sound has evolved into sprawling, cosmic explorations with releases on the Drag City label such as the 2014 self-titled double album, 2015's Transporteur and Automaginary (with Natural Information Society), and 2016's Epic Jammers and Fortunate Little Ditties with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. Further milestones include the 2017 double album Bajas Fresh, 2018's seven-disc compilation Rebajas, 2021's Sun Ra tribute Switched on Ra, 2022's Bajascillators, and 2025's acclaimed Inland See.

Their debut at MUNCH coincides with a new release, Isle Peaks, drawn from the Inland See sessions.

Combining minimalist hypnosis with ambitious experimentation, their live performances evoke Robert Fripp's guitar work and abrasive New Age mysticism. We are delighted to bring their vibrations to the Festsal at MUNCH.
